The Patterns Trilogy
The Patterns Trilogy is series of short films written and directed by Jamie Travis. Starring my partner, Courtenay Webber, the films were shot over two summers in 2005 and 2006 and set primarily at our Vancouver residence. Credited as production designers, Courtenay and I went on to win several awards for the art direction of the film. During the shoots, I also served as a reluctant stills photographer.
Historically, the still photographer was the most despised person on the set. In the early days of sound movies, when the actors were finished with a scene they would have to re-create it for the photographer. This extra work made the photographer a never-ending source of frustration and resentment. (Source: shutterbug.com)
